How to Keep Your Hair Straight
1. Conditioner
If you keep Googling ‘how to keep hair straight all day’, ‘how to keep straightened hair from firzzing in humidity’, and ‘how to get sleek, straight hair’, then stop and read this!
I naturally have wavy/curly hair that is very reactive to humidity, which means that I used to have an incredibly hard keeping my hair straight after straightening it, no matter how many times I straightened each section of hair.
I would spend double the time I normally would on straightening my hair to make sure it was pin straight and even then, the second I would step outside my hair would poof up and become frizzy and wavy.
BUT, once I started using a lot of conditioner and letting it sit in my hair for at least a few minutes, I noticed such a big difference in how my hair reacted outdoors.
I like to apply conditioner every time I wash my hair after shampooing. I squeeze any excess water out of my wet hair and then apply a generous amount of conditioner (about a table spoon) on my ends and the length of my hair, making sure to avoid my roots. I let it in my hair for about 5-7 minutes and then wash it out with cold water.
After using conditioner my hair was less frizzy and stayed straight for much longer. This is because conditioner adds hydration and moisture to your hair and helps eliminate frizz since your hair gets frizzy because its dry and lacking moisture. If you want straight hair without frizz, then you need to start including conditioner in your hair care routine.
This tip is great for curly hair girlies if you can’t seem to figure out how to keep curly hair straight after straightening it.

If you’re looking for silky straight hair tips, then this tip will be your favorite!
If you’ve read of my other hair care articles then you know that I absolutely love oiling my hair before washing it, but I also love hair oils for after I style my hair to seal my ends in and keep my hair nourished, shiny, and frizz hair. If you’re trying to figure out how to keep your hair straight, then hair oils after styling is a must.
Putting hair oils on after you straighten your hair is a great way to make sure your hair stays straight all day long because the lock the ends of your hair with moisture. This will give your hair that Instagram perfect sleek, straight hair and also help if you have frizzy hair or live in an area with a lot of humidity.
My favorite way to use hair oils after using a flat iron it is to first blow dry my hair, then straighten each section well (starting from the root so you don’t see my curly hair texture) and then sealing it with hair oil on the ends and hair shaft.
Whatever hair type you have, using hair oils after using a flat iron will keep your hairstyle lasting a lot longer and add the most beautiful shine to it.

4. Brush Your Hair While Straightening it
If you want to know how to keep your hair straight, then you need to be brushing your hair while simultaneously straightening it.
All you need to do is hold your hair brush in one hand and straightener in the other, and while your straightening your hair, hold your brush over the straightener and brush it immediately before – your hair will be pin straight and last so much longer.
Make sure to use small sections of hair so you can evenly straighten every strand of hair.
I have been using this straight hair tip for years and it helps keep your hair straight for so much longer than just grabbing random chunks of hair and straightening it.
5. Pay Extra Attention to Your Roots and Ends
How to keep hair straight in humidity? How do I maintain my straight hair?
Pay attention to your ends and roots for pin straight hair that will last all day and overnight!
When you’re straightening your hair, if you pay special attention to your roots and ends, then your hair will look straighter and stay straight for much longer because you have sealed both your ends and roots so humidity is less likely to be a problem, which means no frizz and straighter hair for longer!
All you need to do is, while straightening your hair, go over your roots a few more times than the rest of your hair and the same goes for your ends.
When you’re applying products like hair oils and serums, rub the ends thoroughly and this will help your hair stay shiny, frizz free, and straight.
6. Use a Hair Serum for Humidity and Frizz
Using hair serums that specifically target humidity and frizz are great for keeping your hair straight and silky smooth because the serums will lock moisture into your hair and block and humidity from getting to your hair and making it frizzy and less straight.
