2. You NEED a Cuticle Oil (Moisture is Key!)

Cuticle care is so important for faster nail growth because the cuticle is where the nail grows from.

If you want longer, stronger nails, make sure you’re hydrating your cuticle and nail bed so that it’s moisturized, healthy, and ready for new nail growth.

The best way to hydrate your nails is with a cuticle oil – not only is it essential for nail growth, but it also makes your cuticles look fresh and beautiful.

Cuticle oil is also amazing for hang nails!

3. Always, ALWAYS Use a Base Coat

If you get your nails done – whether it’s gel nails, acrylics, or you paint them yourself at home – then you need to be applying a base coat if you want your nails to grow faster and stronger.

Why is base coat important? Applying a base coat before other polish is an absolute MUST because it protects the nails from chemicals and other damaging ingredients by sealing the nail bed and any ridges and cracks. Base coat nail polish is also really important because it strengthens the nails and acts as reinforcement.

Faster nail growth is almost impossible if you aren’t using a base coat before applying other polishes on top. A base coat is essentially a nail growth polish – that’s how important it is for faster growing nails.

While it’s important to be cutting your cuticles to maintain cuticle health, make sure you don’t cut your cuticles completely off because this can expose your nails to germs and bacteria.

Plus, if you cut off all your cuticle, then there is a layer of protection on your nails that’s missing and this can lead to weak and thin nails.

So the next time you’re doing your nails, cut your cuticles the way you normally would, but leave a little extra skin so that your nails can grow faster and stronger.

5. Switch to an Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover

Using a nail polish remover that has acetone in it isn’t the end of the world BUT switching to an acetone-free nail polish remover is SO much better for your nails and cuticles.

Acetone dries the skin and nails out, so it can dehydrate your nail bed and cuticle.

Acetone-free nail polish removers get rid of any nail polish without stripping your nail bed and cuticle of moisture, and the more moisturized your nails are, the faster and longer they can grow!

I’ve also linked a few other amazing acetone-free nail polish removers worth giving a try!

6. STOP Over-Buffing Your Nails

Buffing your nails is really helpful if your nails are uneven and have a lot of ridges.

BUT, over buffing your nails is extremely harmful to your nails and nail bed because if you buff away your nail bed, you’re getting rid of vital layers of nail protection, and this can leave your nails thin, weak, and extremely brittle, which will make it near impossible to grow them.

Unless your nails are very textured and have a lot of ridges, I would recommend skipping nail buffing altogether.

7. Are You Getting Your Vitamins?

One of the easiest ways to grow your nails faster and stronger is by making sure you’re getting all the necessary nutrients in your body – before you start trying to fix the outside of your nails, focus on what you’re putting into your body.

Some of the most important vitamins for nail growth are biotin, keratin, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, and folic acid.

9. How to Stop Biting Your Nails

If you’re trying to grow your nails long and healthy, one of the worst habits that you can have is biting your nails.

Biting your nails can severely damage the nail, nail bed, and cuticle, exposing it to possible infections. Nail biting can also lead to weak and brittle nails.

Best Nail Polish for Nail Biting

When I was younger, I used to bite my nails A LOT, and it led to my nails always being super weak and thin, with lots of hang nails.

Here’s a few of the best nail biting treatments on the market:

10. Let Your Nails Breathe

If you get your nails done a lot, if you seriously want to grow your nails faster, then you need to give the gel nails, acrylics, and even regular nail polish, a bit of a break.

When you’re constantly putting things on your nails, it hinders growth because there’s more layers for the nail bed to get through, especially if you get gel or acrlyic nails.

Don’t put any nail polish on your nails for a month, and you will be amazed by how fast they grow!

I hope these 10 best tips on how to grow nails faster make your nails as healthy, strong, and beautiful as they can be.
