If you’ve ever seen girls on Instagram with incredible thick, voluminous hair and then tried recreating it on your own thin hair, then you definitely understand the struggle of finding the perfect hair styles for fine hair that give the illusion of thicker, fuller hair. But here are a few hair styles for fine hair that will make styling thin, flat hair so much more fun and easy!

You will love these, too!

The Best Hair Styles for Fine Hair

Flipped Ends

Flipping out the ends of your hair makes your look bouncier and adds lots of volume and texture to give the appearance of thicker, denser hair – perfect for fine hair!

This is one of my favorite voluminous hairstyles because it’s easy, takes 2 seconds to do, and completely elevates your look. All you need to do is use a straightener to curl the ends of your hair upwards for a retro chic vibe.

Seal the ends with a hair serum that will keep your hair flipped all day long.

90s Blowout

This is one of the ultimate easy hairstyles for thin fine hair that has been all over every girl’s Pinterest feed this year.

Giving yourself a 90s blowout is one of he best ways to add volume and bounce to your hair and give the illusion of thicker hair.

I love using hot rollers for this blowout look and then finishing my hairstyle with a texture spray.

Get ready for big, bombshell hair!

Braided Bangs

If you have thin hair, then you know that one of the hardest parts of styling your hair is adding volume to the front of your hair.

Even if you have thin, flat hair, having volume in the very front of your hair, especially your face framing pieces, gives the illusion of fuller hair.

That’s why braiding the front pieces of your hair is one of my favorite hairstyles for thin hair!

If the braid is very thin, try gently pulling on the braid to spread it and make it look thicker.

This hairstyle is easy, simple, and so flirty and cute!

Bouncy Pony

If you have fine thin hair, then try to avoid straight hair styles because they tend to make hair look even flatter and thinner.

If you want an updo for thin hair, try a textured wavy pony with your bangs and front pieces out.

This adds texture and depth to your hair and makes it look a lot thicker!

Try a wave spray for perfect beachy waves for this pony hair style.

Deep Side Part

It doesn’t matter how thin your hair is, if you rock a deep side part, then your hair will automatically look fuller, bouncier, and thicker.

This is one of the easiest thin hair styles to do because it doesn’t require any addition products – just flip your hair to the side.

Another great tip for this hairstyle is to use a root spray or powder that fill in any gaps in your hairline to give the look of more hair.

Bubble Braids

This trendy hair style is great for adding extra volume to thin hair!

Just use hair ties to tie your hair every 2 inches apart and then on the hair to get a ‘bubble’.

This trendy hairstyle is perfect for fine hair and doesn’t require any heat!

Bob it Up

This is the ultimate short hair style for fine hair because bobs always make your hair look thicker and more dense.

Add some bangs to the look and your hair is perfectly Parisian!

Half Up Half Down Bun

Shoulder length hair is one of the best haircuts for fine thin hair and this hair style proves it!

Throw up half of your hair into a messy bun – make sure to pull on the bun a little so it looks bigger and makes your hair look thicker – and then give the hair that’s left down messy beach waves with some texture spray.

This effortless hair style will add so much body to thin, flat hair!

face framing hair style

Face Framers

Leaving some hair out to frame your face in any type of hair style – whether your hair is up or down – is a great way thicken up your hair and add texture.

This simple hair hack will make your hair look so much fuller than it actually is!

space bun hair style

Bobble Space Buns

I love messy space buns for adding thickness and they’re perfect for greasy hair days.

Again, make sure to pull on the buns for added thickness and keep a few pieces of your hair out to frame the face and add texture.

I hope these hair styles for fine hair make styling thin hair easier and more fun!
