My eyelashes aren’t very long and thick, so I’ve seriously been considering buying those popular (and overpriced!) eyelash growth serums for longer, fuller lashes. I know these serums would work because of the reviews, but I just can’t get myself to splurge and spend the $100 on a little tube of serum. So here’s how you can do a DIY eyelash serum at home for a fraction of the cost!

DIY Eyelash Serum for Better Lashes FAST
One-Ingredient Eyelash Serum
If you want the simplest of simple DIY eyelash serum, then I would recommend applying castor oil on your lashes every night.
Castor oil is amazing for your hair growth and it’s the only product I used for about a year when I first started trying to grow my lashes. And let me tell you, IT WORKS WONDERS!
Using castor oil, I saw so much growth in my lashes that I stopped wearing mascara on most days.
The only thing I would recommend with castor oil is to not put it on the morning because its kind of slimy and might ruin your eye makeup.
How to Apply Castor Oil on Your Lashes
The easiest and most effective way that I have found to put on castor oil on your eyelashes is with the same type of brush you get with mascara.
What I did (and this worked super well!) was to use an old mascara bottle that I cleaned out really well and put in some castor oil in the tube. Then every night I would apply the oil on my eyelashes as if I was applying mascara.
Make sure to go from root to tip with your eyelashes for maximum growth.
If you want a quick and easy solution for a DIY eyelash serum that is only one ingredient, then I would highly, highly recommend castor oil!
Ingredients for a DIY eyelash serum
I used the ingredient list from the GrandeLash Serum to come up with the most important ingredients for maximum eyelash growth and here’s what you need!
For this serum I would recommend mixing up all these ingredients together and applying them to your lashes.
1. L-Proline – $9.13

L-Proline is the first ingredient listed in the GrandeLash Serum so you know its good!
Proline is an amino acid that is great for healthy lashes and will make a big difference to the thickness of your lashes.
The L-Proline I have linked here are tablets. You can eat these tablets daily and get the same benefits or if you want it to be a part of your serum, then you can crush them up and put them into your tube. Personally, I think having the tablets on their own is a lot easier so I would suggest that.
2. Hyaluronic Acid – $12.99
You have probably been using hyaluronic acid in your skincare routine, but you can (and should!) use it on your eyelashes too. If you want to make a DIY eyelash serum, then using this ingredient is a must.
Hyaluronic acid will make your lashes softer, healthier, and a lot more hydrated. This will make your lashes in the perfect condition to grow long and thick. This is also one of the key ingredients that GrandeLash and many other popular eyelash serums use in their eyelash growth serums, so definitely include it in your eyelash routine for long lashes.
3. Vitamin E Oil – $10.99
This oil is great for longer, fuller lashes FAST. Vitamin E oil helps with hair regeneration and will make your eyelashes grow in crazy quick.
You should be careful about using this oil though, because it is very thick and goopy. I would recommend putting it in the tube and shaking it before every use just to make sure it doesn’t collect at the bottom. Shaking it will make sure all the ingredients are mixed and that you’re evenly coating your lashes with the products.
This is the simplest way to make your own DIY eyelash serum. It’s fast, cheap, and super effective. Growing your eyelashes can be really annoying, especially if you have really short, thin lashes but I hope this DIY lash serum helps your lashes grow in thicker, longer, and fuller.
